Luisa Piart

Luisa Piart is coordinating the project and contributing to the development of the theoretical and methodological framework. She joined the Institute of Social Anthropology at the University of Bern in February 2013 as a research assistant, and is completing her PhD in anthropology at the University of Vienna and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales EHESS Paris. Her research and teaching interests are in the fields of transnationalism and economic anthropology, they include global markets, industrial labor relations, modalities of economic valuation and urban transformations with a focus on contemporary Turkey. After studying history, geography and international migrations at the universities of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, Paris 4 Sorbonne and in Migrinter at Poitiers University, she has been a member of a DFG research training group at the University of Leipzig (GK 1261), an associate doctoral student of the Centre Marc Bloch in Berlin, and a Praedoc researcher at the University of Vienna (Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology).
